I used to work with a retained firefighter and he said they go immediately though the headlight... big bar, brutal but sometimes speed is a necessity to limit damage.

Worried  about this... my landcruisers have both got batteries behind the headlights. They are fairly well strapped in too. The axe to headlight might not go very far.

 I would have thought axe to bonet/hood might be an easier path in ?
